We will remember them. An impressive installation named Standing With Giants by a local artist Dan Barton on the bank of the M40 in the cut through in South Oxfordshire near junction 6. 101 silhouettes of 6ft WW1 soldiers against the skyline to commemorate the end of #WW1 and 75 wreaths to commemorate the end of #WW2 . As the busy motorway hums in the background of us going about our daily lives we remember those that have given their lives to give us the freedom we have today. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Due to its popularity I'd advise to park at Cowleaze car park walk across the road, follow tarmac path to the right until it becomes overgrown where you will see a gate on the left hand side. Go through the gate, glance right and you will see them in the near distance. A very moving and powerful piece of work. Went up to see the #standingwithgiants installation today. The 101 soldiers are being moved tomorrow. The artist Dan was there today, chatting to visitors. He added the white helmets this morning in honour of James Le Mesurier who passed away earlier this week.

This is a REALLY bad photo of an amazing installation of #soldiers on the #M40 . I was in a car on way to London, when they appeared in Aston Rowant/Christmas Common. Had seen them first through @stormtrooperinstilettoss who took proper photos 😉 Looking into it, they were made by volunteer Dan Barton to commemorate #RemembranceDay and he is collecting funds for the Royal Legion. The M40 Soldiers. This country has its problems like all the others. What I do love about this country though is for over a hundred years every year without fail at 11 o'clock the country stands still to remember the fallen. This Artist Dan Barton has produced a stunning tribute to the ones who sacrificed so much (Was buzzing at the thought of getting some photos of his hard work). Sited On the hill to the side of the M40 at Aston Rowan. And bonus got to meet the fella and shake his hand.

Took a little Sunday potter up the road to see a Remembrance Day hillside installation. The silhouettes by sculptor, Dan Barton, overlooks the M40 in Oxfordshire and includes over 100 soldiers and poppies. Noisy children and dogs aside it was quietly haunting. . . . . .
