Our testimonials have confirmed to us that there is a real need for our installations, a place to go and reflect and honour those that have given us our freedom past and present. This is currently particularly poignant as there are now so many people fighting again for our freedom during this pandemic.

He’s a very talented, funny and kindly young man who is clearly passionate about his project. The weather helped. It was a glorious fresh sunny bright day ( Remembrance Sunday 2019) our Grandsons loved roaming through the soldiers and learning more about “ Poppy Day”/ Armistice day and on the way home furnished us with interesting facts ✨👍I hope the word spreads about this exhibition because Dan has done a fine thing. Emotional and reflective run to remember with this amazing moving tribute of remembrance by local artist Dan Barton #standingwithgiants - @crazytruns
We will remember them. An impressive installation named Standing With Giants by a local artist Dan Barton on the bank of the M40 in the cut through in South Oxfordshire near junction 6. 101 silhouettes of 6ft WW1 soldiers against the skyline to commemorate the end of #WW1 and 75 wreaths to commemorate the end of #WW2 . As the busy motorway hums in the background of us going about our daily lives we remember those that have given their lives to give us the freedom we have today. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Due to its popularity I'd advise to park at Cowleaze car park walk across the road, follow tarmac path to the right until it becomes overgrown where you will see a gate on the left hand side. Go through the gate, glance right and you will see them in the near distance. A very moving and powerful piece of work. Please follow the @m40soldiers account and support their Just Giving account in raising £7500 for @royalbritishlegion https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/m40soldiers Thank you . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Saw this whilst driving on the M40 so went to investigate!#m40soldiers
Went up to see the #standingwithgiants installation today. The 101 soldiers are being moved tomorrow. The artist Dan was there today, chatting to visitors. He added the white helmets this morning in honour of James Le Mesurier who passed away earlier this week.

Weekend away from the track so a visit to the M40 soldiers. Amazing place to visit and reflect. #soldiers #poppy #relflect #remember #lestweforget #poignant #thankful #m40soldiers
This is a REALLY bad photo of an amazing installation of #soldiers on the #M40 . I was in a car on way to London, when they appeared in Aston Rowant/Christmas Common. Had seen them first through @stormtrooperinstilettoss who took proper photos 😉 Looking into it, they were made by volunteer Dan Barton to commemorate #RemembranceDay and he is collecting funds for the Royal Legion. The soldiers will be up until 24/11 🌹🌹🌹 If you can, please donate: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/m40soldiers 🌹🌹🌹 #M40soldiers #DanBarton #RoyalLegion
Stunning and humbling Remembrance Day memorial - so glad I was able to walk and see this close up. #wewillrememberthem #m40soldiers #standingwithgiants

Day 315 - fabulous display of soldiers and poppies by Dan Barton
Visited this amazing, moving Remembrance installation nearby. 101 silhouettes #ww1 If you're driving to London on the M40, just look right after J6.
What an incredibly moving installation at Aston Rowant this morning. Lest we forget #lestweforget #standingwithgiants #m40soldiers #danbarton
In remembrance of the Unknown Soldier, 101 6ft tall #ArmisticeDay soldier silhouettes and 75 poppy wreathes have been installed on the hillside above the M40 Motorway ➡️ http://brewers.co.uk/news/article/standing-with-giants Brewers in #Abingdon donated over £500 worth of black and red paint to @m40soldiers to help Dan Barton complete the installation which he is managing voluntarily to raise funds for Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal
The M40 Soldiers. This country has its problems like all the others. What I do love about this country though is for over a hundred years every year without fail at 11 o'clock the country stands still to remember the fallen. This Artist Dan Barton has produced a stunning tribute to the ones who sacrificed so much (Was buzzing at the thought of getting some photos of his hard work). Sited On the hill to the side of the M40 at Aston Rowan. And bonus got to meet the fella and shake his hand.
Standing with giants. This epic tribute was handmade by Dan Barton using recycled signage. The 101 sculptures stand on a hillside overlooking the M40 motorway in Oxfordshire. www.m40soldiers.co.uk #m40soldiers
What a wonderful tribute to the fallen #m40soldiers #standingwithgiants
Took a little Sunday potter up the road to see a Remembrance Day hillside installation. The silhouettes by sculptor, Dan Barton, overlooks the M40 in Oxfordshire and includes over 100 soldiers and poppies. Noisy children and dogs aside it was quietly haunting. . . . . .
Standing with Giants - a stunning Remembrance tribute to fallen soldiers... an installation of more than 100 silhouettes of soldiers and a sea of poppies that can be seen from the M40 - well worth a visit! Created by local sculptor, Dan Barton. . . . .
Very poignant remembrance tribute - 101 silhouettes on the hillside overlooking the motorway
The Stand With Giants memorial at Aston Rowants is absolutely brilliant! A wonderful and powerful tribute 💕
An amazing remembrance tribute to our fallen heroes at Aston Rowant Nature Reserve in The Chiltern Hills. Consisting of 101 soldiers silhouettes and 75 poppy wreaths by local sculptor Dan Barton
